Tassili: a plateau with a very rugged form, due to sandstone erosion. Tassilinin’Ajjer: named after it’s habitants. There are also Tassilis around the Ahaggar mountains, much more eroded than at the Tassilin’Ajjer.
Guelta: water hole, usually rain water in a rift. An Arabic word: on maps we often see “aguelman” (a tamahaq word).
