Djanet is the conglomerate of several villages which follow the valley of the wadi for around 20km. The modern town centre is Tin-Khatma. The most interesting villages are the old ksours.
- Adjahil, on the right bank (the wadi “flows” north-south), glued against the cliff, with it’s very ancient fortifications on the summit of the mountain.
- El-Mihane, the typical Saharianksar(old village), perched at height with it’s narrow and winding streets.
- Azellouaz, with its houses now somewhat in ruins, built between blocks of granite. A beautiful ancient mosque with a sober minaret dominates the village.
More to see at Djanet: the palm grove and its gardens, the blacksmith-jewellers, the exhibition at the Park.
