{"id":52,"date":"2017-06-18T21:05:05","date_gmt":"2017-06-18T19:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atrisahara.com\/?page_id=52"},"modified":"2017-09-28T22:14:28","modified_gmt":"2017-09-28T20:14:28","slug":"djanet","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/atrisahara.com\/en\/acceuil\/djanet\/","title":{"rendered":"Djanet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some information on Djanet, the starting point of our circuits.<\/p>\n<p>Djanet is the administrative centre of Daira, the head office of Wilaya is at Illizi.<\/p>\n<p>In a nomad region, it is somewhat difficult to know the exact population number, but the general consensus is that there are 9000 habitants at Djanet.<\/p>\n<p>Djanet has an international airport, a hotel, banks (closed on Fridays and Saturdays), a hospital and a museum in the National Park building.<\/p>\n<p>Distances from Djanet:<\/p>\n<p>Tamanrasset\u2026..730 km<\/p>\n<p>Ouargla\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.1 460km<\/p>\n<p>Alger\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..2 400 km<\/p>\n<p>Agades&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u2026\u2026\u2026\u20261 200km<\/p>\n<p>And our circuits :<\/p>\n<p>Tin-Merzouga\u2026\u2026\u2026240km<\/p>\n<p>Ih\u00e9rir\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..230km<\/p>\n<p>Bord-el-Haouas (ancient Fort Gardel on maps) 140km<\/p>\n<p>Djanet is the conglomerate of several villages which follow the valley of the wadi for around 20km. The modern town centre is Tin-Khatma. The most interesting villages are the old ksours.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adjahil, on the right bank (the wadi \u201cflows\u201d north-south), glued against the cliff, with it\u2019s very ancient fortifications on the summit of the mountain.<\/li>\n<li>El-Mihane, the typical Saharianksar(old village), perched at height with it\u2019s narrow and winding streets.<\/li>\n<li>Azellouaz, with its houses now somewhat in ruins, built between blocks of granite. A beautiful ancient mosque with a sober minaret dominates the village.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More to see at Djanet: the palm grove and its gardens, the blacksmith-jewellers, the exhibition at the Park.<\/p>\n<p>Lankechem, the Polar star!
